Garden Design Diary – Week 41

Grow a Friendly Space

London Garden Design diary week 41

After our holiday on the Isle of Wight, Matt is back on site in Hackney, where the client has increased the garden scope of works. He needs to complete the planting, install extra paving, construct decking planters, stain of the garden office, dress and fill gabion planters and install a sedum roof to their garden office!

Katrina has been contacted by her clients from Bucharest, who wish to commission another Romanian garden design. They are doing a house swap and moving from the outskirts into the centre of Bucharest. Katrina will be flying out in a couple of weeks for the design consultation. Watch this space.

Work continues to get our updated garden design portfolio ready to be sent to print. It’s a long drawn out process as some designs were initially drawn by hand and Katrina us now re- drawing them on Sketch Up. The portfolio seeks to showcase our gardens from the last 8 years, as well as showing the step by step concept to completion process.

Kat undertook a design consultation for a garden design in Crouch End, North London. The consultation had been purchased through Red letter Days. Our garden design vouchers make a great present for any occasion and can be booked directly with us at www.gardenpresents.co.uk or through one of our partners, including Red Letter Days, Buyagift.com and Virgin Experience.

Matt continues to work on the garden design blog, resizing the images and text to fit our new improved layout. We are also building partnerships with other blogs, in particular Studio G, who are launching a new publication Leaf Magazine.

Matt has provided a quote for a client for her garden in Wanstead, including some close board fencing and rendering a garden wall.

Matt has been busy writing a generic garden specification document for garden designers to tailor for use in their individual designs. This document will help designers provide their clients and contractors with a list of instructions and expectations of quality and standard control for the various landscaping elements they may include in their designs

Matt has also undertaken a quote in Brentwood, for which the client would like her driveway reshaped and widened, plus some additional planting and lighting installation.
