Garden Design Inspiration: a circular garden
This necklace by Axel Russmeyer, housed at the Victoria and Albert Museum, provides inspiration for this circle themed garden design. This funky design references the spherical nature of the piece. A series of formed stepping stones layered over each other lead to a central patio large enough to house a hot tub and sun loungers. Two pathways lead from this to a spherical pod in the bottom right of the space. The 360 degree rotating pod houses a table and bench seat which can convert to a day bed.
Planting surrounds the hard landscaping with detail including a line of spherical box balls, complemented by sandstone balls and stainless steel balls. An unusual focal point is created by the inclusion of an Aqua Sphere, which is a clear spherical water feature. The whole area is designed to be a modern space most suitable for a single person or couple.
