Brief

A garden design for South London. This client contacted us as they felt that the garden lacked style and needed improvement. The garden was on two levels and because of the positioning of the steps was slightly restricted.

Solution

Earth Designs have suggested extending the patio area directly outside the backdoor slightly to allow more space for dining. This area it was suggested, was to be laid within the Indian sandstone paving and set into which there are sandstone circle on to which the client could place a large dining table and chairs for alfresco dining. Steps leading up to the second terrace of the garden met with a crescent shaped path bearing off to the right, a sun terrace suitable for loungers and and some contemporary planters. Bearing to the left, the pathway sweeps around to a second circular area masked by a timber screen lit-up at night, this was a private area suitable for relaxing and writing, as was the client’s chosen career.

The surrounding beds would be planted with a green and white planting scheme, and interspersed with taller contemporary planters to add some structure, and height to the space.
