London Garden Design Diary: Week 35 2012

Our London Garden Design Company has been busy WINNING WORK all over London:

London Garden Designer Diary

This may have been Earth Designs most successful week ever for contracting work! In the space of 7 days we have won a record 3 sizable garden builds. The first is implementing a garden design in Hackney, the second is for a Japanese garden design in North London and the third is a modern garden design for East London to be built in Highams Park! All the clients have now been sent contracts. Work on the projects will commence in November and run right through to Spring 2013. The clients have left us some lovely comments regarding their designs and how much they are looking forward to the builds.

Matt continues his landscaping in Hackney. The project should be complete, bar the lighting, by the end of next week.

We have been contacted about London Roof garden design in Shoreditch. The client is looking for a solution for their exterior space prior to renting it out. She is happy to retain her existing decking, but wants to make it more aesthetically appealing with the inclusion of some screening and plants. Matt is due to visit her this week to make some suggestions and give her some idea of costs.

Katrina has been busy teaching ‘Google Sketch Up for Garden Designers’ Course this week. On the back of a recent flurry of bookings, we have overhauled our short garden design courses and included an additional session in our portfolio ‘Specification Writing and Budgeting for Garden Designers’ This course will commence in the New Year and will be run by Matt from our London garden design studio. Tony Woods from the Garden Club London kindly commented: ‘ I have been working with a range of very traditional garden design techniques for 10 years and attending the 2 day SU course had been on my to do list for some time. I was apprehensive having heard mixed reports on the usability. I was slightly overwhelmed at the start of the first day when Katrina showed me the most superb 3D visual and announced that ” By the end of tomorrow this will be what you’ll be producing!” If I am honest, I thought that Kat would do most of the clever stuff and I would nod and agree, not really taking anything in as I crumbled.  I could not have been more wrong. Katrina’s methodical and relaxed teaching method had me totally as ease and by the end of day 1 we had turned one of my clients gardens into a virtual reality. Earth designs offer great advice and are happy to share ideas with other professionals whether you have been in the job for 20 years or 20 days I would strongly recommend getting in touch with Matt and Katrina to look at your business from a new angle. Later in the year I will be investing some more time with the dynamic duo to review and develop other aspects of my design package.
