Whether you are just embarking on a career in garden design or are a fully fledged designer looking to plug certain skill gaps, we hopefully have the course for you. The courses are specifically designed for people who do not have the time to attended a full time garden design course, but would like a little more one-to-one tuition than a correspondence garden design course or online garden design course can offer.
I built Earth Designs, a London Garden Design Studio, from scratch with no funding and no formal landscaping or design training. I just had vision and passion. After graduating with an art degree in the late 1990s I exhibited my work at several international exhibitions before starting a career as an event producer. My experience as both an artist and a live event producer for a leading brand marketing agency gave me many of the skills needed to build Earth Designs into a successful design company. Matt joined me in 2004 to run the build side of the company to enable us to offer our clients a concept to completion service. As a designer who entered the industry via an unorthodox path, I know how difficult it can be to forge a career in garden design whilst juggling your commitments to family and your existing job. Often the time demands and cost of a full- or part-time course can make studying preclusive. With this in mind I devised a series of tailor made short garden design courses designed to assist people wishing to work in the industry, both from a business and design point of view. Garden designing can be a lonely profession, so making connections and seeking advice from a practising garden designer is something I found invaluable when I set up my business.
I aim to keep the classes small so that you have intensive tuition with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Previous students will testify that the amount of information you get is comprehensive and invaluable.
We have undertaken a host of courses from one day courses to week-long sessions.
