Traditional Front Garden design for East London

Brief

At the start of the year this couple called Earth Designs as they were looking for a garden designer in east London to design and build their Front Garden design.

Katrina produced a terrace house garden design for the back garden and also a formal front design to house a bin store and give access to both the front door and side gate

The front garden is tired and in need of a facelift. The client is happy with the existing front wall and the position of the gate. There is a very mature pittosporum tree in the garden which is also to remain. Space is needed to accommodate three wheelie bins and access is needed to both the front door and side gate.

Solution

The design follows a formal garden layout, with random-lay sandstone pathways divided by a planting bed enclosed by low box hedging. A pressure treated timber triple bin store on the left hand side of the space has ample space for the client’s three wheelie bins. The design is completed with tall, elegant planting, including stunning purple Allium.
