Garden Landscapers in Essex and London – Diary Week 12
Katrina went to present to our West London garden design clients. The brief for the design was for a family courtyard space in which to relax and entertain with provision for vegetable growing. As they were on a fixed budget they were happy to retain some of the existing features. The existing railway sleeper bed was to be restructured and a decked bench with integrated storage added. A timber pergola at the rear of the garden would offer opportunity for hanging play equipment, such as a swing or rope ladder, for their small children to use. The client’s were delighted with the design and have indicated that they would like to proceed with the build.
Katrina also visited a gentleman in Thorpe Bay, Essex who wanted a planting plan for his garden. He has a large planting area which he is struggling to maintain and wishes to create a space featuring long flowering perennials.
Katrina begun the setting out drawing for the garden design in Hounslow. The garden is long and awkwardly shaped, with a large brick building dominating the centre left of the space and is currently bare mud with half-finished drainage and utility groundworks. The client wants to maximise his lawn space whilst creating fluidity in the design. Katrina has sent over the initial setting out drawing for feedback and will work on tweaking it over the coming weeks to provide them with the garden design of their dreams.
Katrina is also working on a postal design. She has sent the client three options to choose from. They liked option two with a few tweaks. Katrina will now draw up the design to scale as well as putting together a planting plan for the client to follow.
Earth Designs has also had an article published in a local lifestyle magazine, entitled ‘Wow Factor Garden’. This great magazine is posted to homes throughout Southend and the surrounding areas so is great coverage for us.
The garden build in Wanstead is now complete. The clients were overjoyed with their new garden and were looking forward to spending the bank holiday weekend playing in it with their young son.
Work continues on the new garden build project in East Finchley. The team have completed the majority of the clearance and built a railway sleeper raised bed on the upper level beside the garage. Work will commence next week on the paving, which comprises an intricate design on several diagonals using three different paving materials.
